Short term versus long term energy planning - Considering temporal trade-offs in decarbonisation pathways

This workshop will look at the temporal trade-offs to be considered in energy planning, with a special focus on the long term versus short term energy systems modelling. The workshop sessions will include presentations and discussions regarding short term versus long term energy planning, with a special focus on myopic energy systems modelling. For interested participants, it will also be possible to attend training and discussion sessions regarding the usage of the myopic version of TIMES.
The aims of the workshop are to:
• Bring together energy systems researchers with expertise and interests in evaluating temporal trade-offs in energy systems planning;
• Share expertise regarding the modelling of temporal trade-offs in ESOMs
• Develop a common understanding of the state-of-the art in this field
• Identify knowledge gaps;
• Publish a review paper as output of the workshop.
